The Cubs stay in the win column with a victory this afternoon against the rival beer makers to the north. The victory takes the Cubs' Cactus League record to 2 - 0. The main story of the game was the play by centerfielder Joey Gathright. The Cubs had interest in adding Gathright to their roster this season because he's a left handed bat and has tremendous speed. Gathright played for Lou during a couple of his years with the Tampa Bay Rays. Today he went 3 - 3 with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI. Not a bad afternoon of baseball. Hopefully this is a sign of what is to come this year from Joey. A centerfielder that could produce at the plate would be a great addition to Wrigley. Jake Fox, another first baseman prospect, also shined today going 2 - 3 with a homer. Watch out D-Lee, you've got two young guys on your heels.

GO CUBS GO!
I really like this format. I like the human side to the game.
